On her own time she prepared helpful written aids for me, and always had interesting things to discuss which will help when I am in Europe, actually having to speak a foreign language. I had a good time with the lessons I had and I am only sorry I could not stay the course.

We practiced speaking, with many stops along the way to consider the "nuances" of German grammar, vocabulary, colloquial usage, and pronunciation. She learned German after moving to Germany from the US at the age of seven (through high school, and she said that this made her more aware of the process of learning the language than might have been the case if she had been born and raised in Germany. I've always put an emphasis in my study on getting the correct pronunciation, and I felt very comfortable with her; to my ear, she spoke clearly and naturally.
