She really knows how to teach a student how to attack any piece of writing and see exactly what it's about and how to figure out what the writer is trying to say - an extremely important skill for acing the SAT. Maria also knows how to help students recognize grammar errors that are not very obvious. She is easy to understand, and she knows how to cater to the specific needs of each student. At my first lesson we spent a few minutes discussing the type of student I was. That's exactly what I was looking for - a tutor that took the time to see what I needed help with and how I like to learn.
