Physics, Math, Computers
I am a professional physicist who has taught college level physics and mathematics, and tutored math and physics at the high school level. I started tutoring when I was a stay-at-home dad and I was looking for a chance to get out of the house — now I tutor during the summer and in semesters when I’m not teaching full time. I can help with college physics and math, introductory astronomy, MCAT physics, and preparation for AP, SAT, and Regents exams. I can also teach computer programmi…
Testimonials
Colleen S. from Pawling, NY My son feels the lessons are good and relevant. Eric is patient and relates the math to what Will wants to know. He is working to keep my son interested and focused. So far very good!
Marissa Z. from Poughkeepsie, NY Before Eric tutored me, I despised math. I didn't get the concepts and it frustrated me. However, after one or two sessions with him, Eric realized how to make me like math - by inserting it into contexts of things that I enjoyed. By telling me the stories of why certain formulas were made, and explaining their historical significance, I got a broader picture of what math really was. In that, I began to like math, because he showed me how to look at it a different way - math wasn't just pointless numbers sitting on a page waiting to be solved, but a puzzle or story. In short, I highly highly recommend Eric if you want to enjoy math, get your grades up, or do well on the math section of the SAT. For me at least, he did all three stupendously.
Barrie B. from Lagrangeville, NY Eric has been working with my daughter for three weeks. My daughter has received help in computer programing using JavaScript. These lessons will help in high school and with the robotic team. She wanted help with trig/pre-calc. She has always done well in school and wanted to get ahead during the summer break. She was also interested in continuing research on her Astronomy and Physics projects. Eric is helping her to refine her research on these projects since he teaches these subjects at two local colleges. Eric is very patient and enthusiastic with his lesson plans. He gives homework and a written report on lessons every week.
Dana M. from Highland, NY Eric displayed the utmost professionalism in my sessions with him. He was able to very adeptly blend a wealth of knowledge with the skills to purvey that knowledge to others. His methods are to the point, but not so much in that the deeper meaning and core concepts of topics are lost. I would certainly recommend him to anybody looking to brush up on their physics skills.
Patricia P. from Pawling, NY Eric has given my 8th grade son three lessons so far. At this early point, I'm not sure if it's helping with my son's grades, BUT my son has really connected with Eric and really likes him. My son says he's able to understand his teaching methods and actually looks forward to his lessons! My son's had three tutors over the last couple of years and none have been able to connect with him as well as Eric has, nor have they helped much with improving his grades. As a reward for my son's hard work, Eric has actually spent his own time teaching my son about computer coding and webpage design. Eric is patient and soft-spoken and works around my son's schedule.
