Teaching Math for Understanding and Then Some
As a Mathematics teacher for 9 years, I am the kind of teacher who actually teaches so students learn. For me, it wasn’t about getting the right answer but it was more about understanding the material. Even though I taught Math, I would give short answer and essay questions on homework, quizzes and tests. This was to ensure understanding. Was it harder for me to grade? Absolutely.
