Japanese Language Tutoring by Doug

Hello and thanks for this opportunity to tell you a bit about myself. I first arrived in Japan in 1978 and I have been studying the Japanese language ever since. The ability to speak, read and write Japanese has grown to be the single most important factor of my 30-year career as I have worked for several Japanese companies or American companies doing business with Japanese companies.

Kelsee M. from San Antonio, TX Selecting Doug as my tutor for learning Japanese has quite seriously been one of the best decisions I've made regarding my studies. He has such a wealth of knowledge of not only the Japanese language but also of the culture of the country. What has especially been invaluable to me is that he has a lot of experience using "Business Japanese" which is something that had been difficult for me to learn from other teachers. The best thing about having Doug as a tutor is how he does the lessons. He comes with such a positive attitude and is so encouraging when teaching new grammar or vocabulary. He also comes to the lessons with a variety of resources including books, papers, songs, flashcards, among other things, so he is able to help students learn no matter their learning style, all while keeping the lessons interesting by utilizing different resources. What's also great is that he doesn't just teach the new grammar or vocabulary and leave it at that, but he will also use real-world examples of what situations in which you might hear or use them. Overall, I highly recommend him to anyone wanting to learn Japanese, and I can honestly say that I look forward to the lessons all week long. They're very relaxed and fun, but you really do learn a lot each time!
