In 2009 I joined the US Navy to work as a translator. Regardless of our level of previous knowledge in Spanish everyone was required to go through some level of training. This gave us the opportunity to learn from professors who had been teaching for most of their lives. That allowed me to see how great teachers cater their lessons to all levels of exposure to a different language.
