John will even incorporate other subjects into a lesson to give him a broader understanding. Our son is picking up great concepts about programming in general as well as those specific to Python programming. Moreover he is interested in learning more, which is good! John is very prompt and responsive - very easy to work with. I really like the programming "homework" assigned by John. This gives my son the opportunity to practice what he has learnt and think outside the box to solve these logic assignments. He even gave his own questions/quiz which were often better than the text book and which were able to be submitted as coursework. We were rushed as the semester was ending and much material needed to be covered; he was flexible with scheduling, always on time and often, after asking if alright, would add on time to make sure as much as possible was covered and done that day. Our daughter worked with another tutor for another subject and said John was definitely the better at explaining things. Final grade was a B+, which she was really happy with!

John was one of the very few who said he would guide the student in both. In math, John gave useful tips on how best to tackle problems. He would make my daughter take sections of the test during every session and while she did them, he would independently be working on the same section. The two would compare answers and then discuss more efficient methods. John's vocabulary list was also quite extensive. He would review new and old words during every class. He assigned essays each week and his comments on them were very insightful. I felt that John provided personalized lessons to suit the student's specific needs. On the organizational side, John was very punctual and had his calendar marked for for the next several classes. We had the flexibility to cancel a particular class just with a day's notice in case there was a need. I would highly recommend John to any student who is looking for some help in preparing for SAT.
