As a former professional performer, I know the importance of a confident and appealing presentation. Whether it is performance in the classroom or in a professional setting, speaking clearly, using correct grammar, and sequencing are of utmost importance. As a teacher in private settings for most of my adult life (piano, voice, art, performance) I found it a natural transition to the fields of English, grammar and speech. I have worked with students from the age of 4 to people in their 70’s, …
Testimonials
Roshanak G. from Rancho Palos Verdes, CA Both my children were upbeat and satisfied with their lessons. They can't wait to get their next one. Patricia exceeded my expectations with her knowledge and patience. Thank You Very Much.
Kayo K. from Redondo Beach, CA I give Patricia 5 stars for tutoring my child. Patricia is very patient and an excellent tutor. She made all the difference for my child in being successful. We are extremely pleased with her.
Josalyn D. from Culver City, CA Before I took lessons with Mrs. M I was a very shy singer, but thanks to her help and guidance I was able to increase the range, and intonation of my voice to a higher degree. I am now a more confident singer and I look forward to the next time I take lessons from her. I have since been able to perform confidently in front of crowds and feel like a much more accomplished musician because of it. I thank her for her teaching and can't wait until I next get her tutorship.
Marisela G. from Bellflower, CA I'm very happy to have Patricia as my tutor. She is a wonderful person, very patient, she is always on time, and she always comes with new ideas to make it easier for me to learn. Thank you! Sincerely, Marisela G.
Sage T. from Rancho Palos Verdes, CA My son was born in Japan and goes to a Japanese school in South bay. I plan to let him go to a local school in Palos Verdes district. In the current school, he takes ESL class every day but it is not enough to catch up the local school. So before sending him there, I let him study, talk and sing (National Antham) with Patricia. It worked very well! He improved phonics and writing skills. My son is shy and does not chat with strangers even in his mother language. But in the case with Patricia, he starts talking and singing cheerfully. She is not only a good teacher but also good singer.
Ana B. from Torrance, CA Patricia gives our 2 boys ages 5 and 7 piano lessons. They learn alot and shes great with them. Shes on time every week and we couldn't be happier!
James D. from Long Beach, CA I enjoy learning English with Patricia M. She motivates me to learn, and is strict enough to correct any mistake I have made during my conversations with her. The first day we met, she began to set up and show me where my strong and weak points were. Once she established that, the actual learning began. She helps pinpoint the formation of the mouth, tongue, and teeth so that each word can come out right. I have learned a lot from her. As a matter of fact, I have already seen the improvements in my English diction and articulation already. I would recommend her to anyone who needs help in their English language.
Chansik K. from Redondo Beach, CA Patricia teaches piano to my 7 1/2 old son who is quirky and unusual, to say the least, due to being highly-gifted and homeschooled. He can be quite a challenge for teachers, especially when they are not acquainted well, and I also have a hard time finding teachers who can offer us what we're looking for. I was looking for a piano teacher who not only understands music and has good skills, but LIVES music AND art with profound depth and sensitivity. Patricia turned out to be one such person, coming from a lineage of musicians and surrounded with talented family. I have yet to hear her play the piano, but her gentle yet thorough approach to assessing my son's musical background gave me a glimpse of her strong root in music and the instrument. Her impressive paintings on the walls also revealed her artistic side to me. Patricia's abundant teaching experiences in various environments is also a great asset. She seems to be very good with children and able to embrace my son's quirkiness in an intelligent way. Overall, I'm very satisfied with her. I am hopeful and excited for what we can achieve in my son's musical ability.
Binh N. from Torrance, CA I am very happy to have Patricia M. as my tutor. She is a wonderful person and a great Tutor. I am enjoying learning ESL with her. I would recommend her to any person who is looking for a tutor.
Jing J. from Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA Mrs. Patricia is a kind, patient and very skilled teacher. My 10 year-old son and I have learned English with her during this summer. She is well prepared every time by bring reference materials, word cards, test paper and even reward idea for us. We both got improved in English. She was on time and even became our friend during the summer. I am sure we will ask her to teach us again next summer when we travel to U.S from Asia. Thank you Patricia.
Xiomara V. from Redondo Beach, CA Patricia is a very patient and helpful tutor. She is helping me with my grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. I highly recommend her as a tutor.
Felix C. from Redondo Beach, CA Patricia has a lifetime of know-how and wisdom, but especially so when it comes down to understanding, teaching and appreciating the intricate complexity within the world of music. She is able to recognize your potential and latent ability very quickly and will provide you with all the tools and guidance you need to succeed from the moment you begin with her. She is a kind and dignified lady and an excellent professional to work with. Just be sure to bring your A-game. Patricia expects you to be on time, do the work she assigns, and rise above your own limitations. She'll push you to make you stronger, but to do this she needs you to communicate clearly with her and also be respectful of her time and effort. But this high level of instruction may not be the best for those who are wishing to learn casually as hobby or as a just a light pastime. Of course, she can still cater to every level... But Patricia is a very special individual and an award-winning teacher. She is capable of not just getting you to play the ivory or bust out a few high notes from your windpipes -- she is the type that can help you become a fully-fledged musician. But at that caliber of music training, it also requires the time, the discipline, the patience, and of course the dedication on your part. This was my experience during the time I had with her, and I would highly recommend serious students wishing to learn classical piano or voice instruction to contact her before the school season is fully underway because she can fill up completely. She comes in very high demand, so don't mess around here because you're learning from one of the best teachers this side of the Pecos River. Or I could say off-Broadway! I was unable to continue with her as I sustained an injury, so piano is on hold for me now. But I wanted to share my experience and thank her for what I learned by writing this review.
