Testimonials
Stan O. from Kensington, MD We have used Gene for math and science tutoring and found him to be very effective. We would highly recommend him to other families. Thank you Gene!
Shirley M. from Silver Spring, MD I know only one teacher I have met in many years that is Gene 's equal in teaching/tutoring talent. That should indicate the regard I have for Gene. He excels in his ability to relate, his ability to diagnose learning barriers, and his level of knowledge. Mr. Gene brings a calm demeanor and a calming voice that immediately allows the student to get over initial anxiety about the tutor and the subject. Then he builds on that connection with a balance of serious focus and moments of humor. Besides his excellent ability to relate, Mr. Gene possesses both outstanding knowledge and the ability to allow the student access to it. He can assess where the student is stumbling and then methodically (not belaboring, but just clearly, step by step) explains what the student is being asked to do and how the student can tackle that and respond. Another helpful aspect is how Mr. Gene builds skill by asking the student how a particular math problem resembles any others so that the student can step back, analyze the problem, and apply similar solution strategies. Although my son hardly sits still for anything or anyone, he can work with steady concentration with Mr. Gene easily for one hour, even 1.5 and up to 2 hours. I have the highest regard for this tutor.
Pam F. from Bethesda, MD Very good tutor ? I really enjoyed my sessions. Whatever your level of understanding is, he will work with you until you get it. For sure, I'll contact him again.
Kristan P. from Silver Spring, MD Gene has been a great find for us. We were hoping to find someone who could help our daughter with both organizational skills and Spanish, and Gene more than fit the bill! It seemed that no matter what emerged, Gene had the skills (including Chemistry, Precalculus --even a new instrument she picked up)! He has proven to be patient, easy going, and flexible. We are grateful.
Bob R. from Silver Spring, MD Gene has been very helpful with our ADD 8th grader student (very bright female) who has developed a math block this year. He is patient and knows how to connect with our teenager to get her through with decent grades so far.
