I started teaching in 1997. I began my career at a private school. I taught half a year of 5th grade (Math and Science) and five full years of third grade, all subject areas. I left the private sector and taught one year of sixth grade Language Arts (reading, writing, and spelling). I then earned my Masters degree to become a school librarian. I was a school librarian for nine years at a preschool and kindergarten campus.
