We reviewed in class the next day, breaking down the translations, sentence structure, and pronunciation. Every now and again we lost focus and chit chatted about Brazil in general - a few cultural things - rather than focus on the lesson at hand. She's fun about it though and those cultural things are important too. I've impressed a few colleagues with my Portuguese and I've only been taking lessons a month, so I'm looking forward to continuing to learn the language with Edite when I come back from my trip to Brazil. All-in-all, I'd recommend Edite. As a student, you should be clear about expectations and desired needs. I laid out those expectations and needs and Edite met them.

In requesting a tutor for both Math (Algebra2/Trig) and Spanish, it was disturbing that Edite showed up at the designated location with her husband to teach the Math tutoring session. Edite stated her husband was an expert in math and it that was not communicated to me that she herself would not be tutoring my daughter in math. This is not allowed by the WyzAnt Tutor company and is against their policy. The tutoring sessions for math and Spanish were set up for two different days and Edite declined in the continuation of tutoring my daughter in Spanish, since I declined to continue with the math sessions. Edite stated that she had accepted to tutor Spanish because it was a package with Math, and that is fine, but it would be appreciated if she was honest in her profile.
