He is a very bright math student, wanting to learn everything himself, but was struggling with some Calculus concepts. He agreed to meet with a tutor, and through Wyzant, I found Margery who seemed to have all of the necessary qualifications, at least online. Well, she exceeded both of our expectations, especially with regard to my son! She arrived promptly, and had already looked over the chapters in his book which he had covered (I had told her on the phone which book he used), and had taken it upon herself to contact his school to try and get information about his course. She immediately jumped into the section he was working on, and seemed to intrinsically know the best way to work with my son. She was extremely respectful of his intelligence, and explained the concepts he didn't understand in such a way he was able to understand almost immediately. She has a great sense of humor, and taught my son many useful calculus techniques in only an hour. Not only that, as his school doesn't offer AP Calculus BC, she offered to help him with that portion in order for him to take the AP Calculus BC exam rather than the AB. Needless to say, we have made the decision to use Margery on a regular basis, especially as Calculus can be a rather daunting class to teach oneself and she made it an enjoyable learning experience for my son.
