Motivating Math Major with Master’s in Teaching
There is always more than one way to solve a math problem! As a former math teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Stanford and a Master’s degree in Teaching from American, I know that there are infinite ways to approach math problems. I also know that exploring many methods is the best way to build conceptual understanding of math.

Testimonials
Belen M. from Lanham, MD Beth helped me with GRE prep. She is kind and makes you feel comfortable around her. She was always on time for our sessions and each meeting was very helpful. Based off of what I needed help with, she made a plan of what we should review and she answered every question I had very well.
Joyce C. from Bethesda, MD Elizabeth was incredibly helpful in both assisting me with Math and SAT preparation. She gave great insight and explanation for topics I originally had trouble with. I would highly recommend her!
Joe D. from Washington, DC Pleased with approach method and insightful feedback. Elizabeth also will coordinate efforts with my daughters teachers which will be of great benefit.
Alex H. from Washington, DC Beth has met with my 8th grade student three times for Geometry tutoring. Each time, she is very professional as well as supportive of my child's efforts. Best of all, my child likes her and feels comfortable working with her. My child has shown improvement in Geometry already. Thank you!
Deborah P. from Washington, DC Beth has been working with our daughter for several months now. We originally asked her to help her with Trig/Pre-Calculus. And now that our daughter brought home her first A+ on her Trig/PC progress report--attention has shifted to preparing for the upcoming SATs. Beth is able to coach across a wide variety of subjects areas, building our daughter's confidence in her own skills and providing just the right level of help and support. We are so lucky to have her working with our daughter this year. _______ After working with Beth for several months, our daughter just got her first SAT scores: she got a 720 on the critical reading-- a section that was always very difficult for her; and she was in the mid-600s in the other two sections. Beth has definitely helped her be more strategic and successful in this standardized testing environment. And we were all very pleased with her initial scores. -------------- Beth has been working with our daughter on preparing for her subject SATs. After her last prep session, our daughter was feeling "calm and confident" as a result of her work with Beth.
Marissa G. from Washington, DC Beth was able to explain math problems in an intuitive, easy-to-follow fashion even when it was her first time seeing the questions. (I brought a list of tough questions and she helped me through them.) When I told her in advance what I wanted to address, she even prepared a helpful handout to go over with me. Incredibly helpful!
