I perceived music notation as a difficult thing that I would just give up on. For example, I thought music notation was just not going to work with my brain, but it turns out it is for anyone if Karen S. is your tutor. Incrementally, I am learning more and more and getting the hang of things. What Karen S. does is absolutely marvelous. She converts the complexity of learning notes into a simplicity of learning notes by implementing some of the best techniques that work. And it doesn't stop there. Karen S. also makes learning the piano an enjoyable time. When it comes to memorization, she is instilling some of the best things such as recall like "okay now teach me as if I didn't know how to do it." In addition, she keeps a perfect track of where you are with everything you learned and she matches this with flashcards to further test your memory/recall. Karen S. has great book recommendations to help advance you further in your music abilities and she really teaches in a great structured way. Aside from this she has the innate ability to count and see if your rhythm or tempo are off key and she also has a metronome that helps your rhythm and tempo even more. Karen S. also corrects my errors flawlessly. For example, Karen S. even knows exactly what note I hit incorrectly if she is looking in my practice book rather than directly looking at my fingers, which I find impressive and extremely helpful. Why wouldn't you want to know EXACTLY 100% what your flaw is? Not only does she have all of these resources and techniques, but she instills a great deal of motivation to help you signficantly on the way. Karen S. has all of the abilities to coach you on and make you a success. Karen S. will make learning simple for you, take it from me, I did not have faith in myself whatsoever. I honestly did not think I would go through with notation EVER, let alone go through with the piano, but she has inspired me of this new passion in life. I now love the art, sound, and possibilities of this instrument, of this piano. I must emphasize again, she instills success. Whether if you are a beginner or whether if you are an advanced pianist, Karen S. will make you better and better with her unique abilities and effective teaching styles.
