Sherry R. from Woodstock, NY I can only say great things about Susan. She has been doing such a great job with our son. He as learned so much from her in the short time that she has been tutoring him. He looks forward to seeing her and is eager to to learn. I just wish that I would have found her sooner. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a great tutor for their child.
Jenny C. from New York, NY My son needed practice on learning to write legibly and read. Susan took the time to listen to my concerns about my son, tried a variety of creative methods to engage with him during the session (practicing large motor skills including writing letters on the window, and fine motor skills, creating a fun video sequence of his writing, making a booklet of his story). It was fun and my son really enjoyed his time there. We could also see the improvement. She gave very helpful pointers and observations at the end.
Carolyn A. from Rhinebeck, NY Coming to the ends of my rope concerning my son and his lack of motivation or desire to work to his full potential, I sat down at the computer one day in search of someone that could possibly assist my son. After reading Susan's profile she seemed the logical choice. To say that she was the right choice would be an understatement. Susan rocked my son's world in just a few sessions, (and mine as well). Susan was able to provide the tools he needed to realize his own potential, along with the desire to do his best. Literally the first week we began to see the changes in him that we had been waiting for. His homework assignments were completed on time, his effort obviously increased as we saw the results in the grades he brought home. Having just received his second quarter grade report we are proud to report that we now have a high honor roll student with a huge increase in his GPA! Although my son did the work, it was most certainly Susan who inspired him to do so. Along the way Susan was also able give my son some very helpful advice in some of his weaker areas such as writing. I was at his desk and saw some notes attached to a paper he was writing, asked him what they were and he said that it was tips Susan had suggested for him to use in his writing. His writing teachers comments on the current report card state that he had a "much more consistent quarter and that his essay revisions are thoughtful and precise." My son is using every piece of information provided to him by Susan to ensure his success, he now knows it's not to late to improve his grades or his habits. No longer are we fighting about homework or grades. Instead we are researching and making college visits. My son stated that if all teachers were like Susan, kids would want to do their best and would learn more. I have to agree with him.
