All districts and schools will receive the resources necessary to create safe, healthy, and welcoming learning environments, and will be equipped to meet the unique academic and social and emotional needs of each and every student.

Elevating Educators

John Jay Elementary (Community Consolidated District 59)

Illinois’ diverse student population will have educators who are prepared through multiple pathways and are supported in and celebrated for their efforts to provide each and every child an education that meets their needs.

Multistate DEIA Guidance and Educator Shortage Report​

​The attorney general of Illinois – along with the attorneys general from California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and the District of Columbia – released multistate guidance in response to the U.S. Department of Education’s Feb. 14 “Dear Colleague Letter” and the Feb. 28 FAQs. This multistate guidance​ reiterates that educational institutions should continue to foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility among their student bodies.
