The philosophy of Columbia Montessori School is based on the traditional Montessori program, which was designed to help young children to develop themselves into independent individuals. We believe that children from a very young age are ready and capable of learning vast amounts of knowledge. Each classroom is a prepared environment and is equipped with Montessori materials appropriate for ages two through first grade. The materials are classified into several different categories: Practical Life (daily living), Sensorial exercises, Language, Geography and Math Through the use of these materials we hope the children will gain an independence and knowledge which will give them a foundation for success in all their school years.
