If you’re thinking about starting a daycare, you’ll need to have a variety of different supplies handy in order to make your daycare a success and enable your children to learn and grow at their highest capacity. Let’s go through the most important daycare supplies that you’ll need.
When you have a room full of kids running around, you’ll need something for them to do that will keep them busy and teach them something at the same time. Educational toys are great for this. Keep in mind the ages of your kids when looking for these toys. Purchase things like books, puzzles, building blocks and arts and craft supplies.
Owning a daycare required you to have a decent amount of furniture. Things like booster seats, highchairs, beds, mats for napping, couches and small tables and chairs are all common pieces of furniture found in a daycare and will a necessity.
All children love to run around outside, so playground equipment is a must for any daycare. Your outside play area needs to have a fence around it and soft landing under each piece of equipment. Your playground equipment doesn’t have to be anything too fancy, children love playing on just about anything! Just make sure the equipment is age appropriate. You’ll most likely be serving breakfast and lunch at your daycare, and you’ll need the proper appliances to make this happen. You’ll need an oven, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, stove, dishwasher and a washer and dryer. On top of this, you’ll need to have plates, cups and silverware for serving food to your kids.
On top of the previous things listed, there will be a lot of random daycare supplies that you’ll need for your daycare to be a success. This would include things like cleaning supplies, blankets, pillows, diapers, a first-aid kit and bibs. As you go about running your daycare, you’ll find things that you need to make your life easier. Keep a running list and purchase it next time you’re at the store!
All of these daycare supplies should be purchased before you allow children in your daycare. The last thing you want is to be stuck in a tough situation without a certain supply that you need. There is no need to buy super expensive supplies either; just get supplies that will get your job done and will last you a while into the future. Happy shopping!
