Starting a child care facility, whether it is a center or a home, is as complicated as starting up a typical business but it can be very rewarding. You need to thoroughly think about many things before beginning this process – these may include the following:
- Since you’re planning to build a business wherein children is 100% involved, the first thing that you need to do is to sincerely love children. You need to really like them and enjoy their company as you’re going to be with them all day long every day of the week.
- Location is important. Check whether there’s a need for your facility, whether it’s a center or home, in the area where you’re planning to start your business. You also need to decide whether you’re going to rent a space in a building or you need to build your facility.
- Age of the children that you want to serve is also important – whether you only want to serve infants or pre-school.
- Start a business plan. Consider where you’re going to obtain the budget to start your child care business to fund the start-up and operational cost needed.
- Lastly, you need to attend a pre-license workshop to make sure that you didn’t miss anything important in starting your child care business.
